Castle Lodge Hotel enjoys a perfect location for exploring the surrounding area. Guests often praise the rooms, some of which are split-level and feature modern bathrooms with brilliant showers; the availability of tea/coffee facilities is appreciated, as are the luxury touches such as the quality soap and shower creams. The breakfast is frequently described as superb, and some guests have particularly enjoyed the fillet steak. While the age of the building (300 years) generally adds to its charm, a few guests have mentioned some issues with cleanliness.

The location was very convenient for exploring nearby areas. The room provided everything i needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were warm and friendly.
I found the bed to be quite small, not ideal. The pillows were lumpy. There was only one pillow per person. I thought the dining room window sills had noticeable dust and dead flies.

Okay Stay

lovely locationfriendly staffgreat breakfastpleasant startpoor cleanlinessworn towelsstained bedsheetsoverall hygiene
I found a lovely location and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was great, a very pleasant start to the day. The staff were helpful in many ways and always happy to assist. The atmospheric pub adds to the charm of the place.
The cleanliness was very poor and disappointing. The towels felt worn and discolored and stained and there was no bath mat in sight. Bed sheets also showed stains, which left me questioning about overall hygiene.
