The staff was very friendly, and breakfast offered plenty of choice and quality produce! my wife has allergies, so they were very attentive and checked at every meal. the bartender made us our favourite cocktails, after we mentioned we like vodka based cocktails. It saved the day!
the cocktail menu had a focus on gin! i would like to see a few of the staple classics on the menu.

the hotel had immaculate rooms. the coffee station was generous, and staff restocked quickly. i ate in the restaurant both evenings and enjoyed steak cooked to bespoke request. staff were attentive, sensitive and kind .
the hotel is old and shows it's historic roots, so the floors felt uneven in some areas.

the staff were helpful and attentive. they always had smiles when we met on the stairs and were quick to assist. service at the bar and in the restaurant was excellent too.

the location was close to everything it was pretty acceptable
the room smelled like it hadn't been aired out in ages and the carpet felt suspiciously damp i also found some questionable stains on the furniture it really gave the term "heritage" a new meaning i suppose
