The Waverley Castle Hotel often hosts line dancing events and offers coach holidays, with easy access to Melrose via a pleasant walk along the River Tweed; Melrose itself has charming coffee shops and charity shops. Guests find ample parking on-site and appreciate the spacious rooms, sometimes noting views of trees even when facing the car park. While some guests have observed that the food quality could be improved, many consider the hotel excellent value, particularly for single rooms, with filling breakfasts. Some rooms are above the kitchen, which can affect the room temperature.

The staff was friendly! the parking was ample.
The shower pressure was terrible. It barely trickled. I couldn't get a decent shower at all. Plus, the room smelled musty. The windows barely opened so the room felt stuffy.
