Peckforton Castle offers a unique experience, with many guests appreciating the opportunity to stay in a beautiful castle and explore its perfect surroundings. Breakfast with a lovely view of the castle grounds is a common highlight, and the food in the restaurant is generally well-received, although some found the 'nouvelle cuisine' style not to their taste. The rooms, some located in turrets, are generally comfortable, though a few guests have mentioned minor issues such as a stained towel.

castle stay was great!

winter deallarge roomseparate showercold bar
a winter deal included an upgrade. the approach creates anticipation and reveals the castellated building. our first floor room was large. the sizeable en suite had a free standing bath and separate large shower.
the bar in the cellar felt cold. i think the bar needed a better atmosphere.
Dining
9/10
dinner in the 1810 restaurant excelled. courses were delicious. the wine list is reasonable and well chosen, even at the upper end the price tag markup seemed fair.
Service
9/10
check in was quick. the receptionist gave all the information needed. breakfast was served in the 1851 dining room. breakfast is a buffet, it is plentiful.

the location was excellent, with the castle set in extensive grounds. i found the tasting menu in the 1851 restaurant to be very competitively priced.
i was disappointed by the lack of attention to detail in the room. the bedside table was thick with dust, it seems cleaning was not a priority (this is unacceptable). upon checkout, staff attempted to charge me again for food that should have been included in my package.

The external walls were quite thick. the internal walls between rooms seemed rather thin. I could hear some noise from neighboring rooms.

The castle location has external walls two foot thick. The breakfast offered a lovely view of the castle grounds while I ate. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The towel in the bathroom was stained. There was no bath gell provided, only hand cream. The safe was so low I couldn't reach it.
