Georgian Charm and Modern Comforts

modern fixturessash windowslocal producelog fires
The newly renovated bathroom featured modern fixtures. I appreciated the large sash windows and shutters in my room. The organic and locally sourced produce really stood out during meals. I also found the coffee in front of the log fires to be quite lovely each evening.
The garden view was slightly obstructed by some overgrown shrubbery near the window
Facilities
9/10
The estate spans 300 acres, and i noticed period features throughout the building. It offers a peaceful location a few miles from the town. The hotel provides a wonderful base for exploring the surrounding area.

a somewhat underwhelming experience

friendly stafflimited selectioncold room
the staff were mostly friendly and helpful (although not always effective).
The breakfast was a letdown. The selection was limited and felt cheap. i had to wait a long time for basic items like toast, which only arrived after i had finished eating. the room was also quite cold, especially the bathroom, and it seemed like the reception didn't really care to address the issue.

Really good Stay

attentive staffsuperior roomdated bedroom
I was upgraded to a superior double room. The dining area was quite elegant. The staff were attentive to all my needs. They provided a wonderful experience overall.
The room felt quite dated. The bedroom design could benefit from modernization. I found this aspect somewhat disappointing given the otherwise high standards.
Dining
10/10
The meal featured home grown produce. The menu included seatrout and sirloin steak. The food preparation and presentation were flawless. I enjoyed every meal.
Location
9/10
The location is quiet and rural near a river. The garden provides an area for relaxation. One can have drinks there before dinner. It makes for a peaceful retreat away from city noise.
Facilities

The hotel includes an open fire. There is also quirky antique furniture throughout. Teas and coffees were offered complimentary in public spaces. I also observed very well-kept grounds.
